About this tour
This session stays close to Strasbourg Cathedral, starting outside on the square before moving in to the astronomical clock. You see the carved façade up close and then the mechanism that has told the city's time for generations. Élise points out the details a quick glance usually misses, from the unfinished tower to the clock's painted figures.
The call opens with a short sound check, then follows the cathedral stop by stop from outside to in. You can ask questions as they come, and Élise slows the camera down whenever something catches your eye. A short list of what you saw follows by message after the call ends.
This suits anyone curious about Gothic architecture who would rather see the detail than read about it. It also works well for a first look at Strasbourg before a longer visit.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide

- A short list of places to visit later

Itinerary
-
Welcome and sound check 5 min
The guide joins the video call, checks the picture and sound with you, and gives you a quick sense of Strasbourg before heading out.
-
Cathedral façade 21 min
You see the sandstone façade close up, carved saints stacked in tiers up toward the single spire. I point out how one tower was never finished, which is why the cathedral looks lopsided from the square below.
-
The astronomical clock 21 min
Inside, the camera settles on the astronomical clock, its painted dials and moving figures still keeping time since the 1800s. I explain what the clock actually tracks beyond the hour, since most of it is not about time at all.
-
Your questions 9 min
Time to ask anything about Strasbourg: prices, safety, food, or whatever you are curious about.
-
A short list to keep 4 min
Before you go, the guide sums up with a few things worth remembering: a dish to try: Choucroute garnie and Petite France, worth a slower look.
Good to know
- A stable wifi or mobile connection makes the picture smoother than a shaky one.
- Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. You watch, the guide does the walking.
- Times are shown in Paris time, so check the time where you are before you book.
- The session is not recorded, and recording it yourself is not allowed. Feel free to take your own notes.
- Ask questions any time, out loud or in the chat. The guide will pause to answer.
- Sessions run in small groups, up to 10 people, so there is room for everyone to ask something.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
