The Kurhaus and the Scheveningen boulevard
Highlights
- A domed hall from the 19th century
- A hotel that has survived fire and rebuilding
- A fishing village turned seaside resort
- The boulevard's open sea views
- Coastal history, told facade by facade
About this tour
This session pairs the grand facade of the Kurhaus with the open boulevard running in front of it. You hear how a 19th-century hotel became the anchor of a seaside resort, and see the beach stretch out alongside the walk. It moves from one fixed building to open coastline in a single stretch.
We start facing the Kurhaus and I explain its history before moving onto the boulevard itself. The pace picks up once we are walking, and I take questions about the resort's history as we go. A short note on the building's timeline follows by message.
It suits anyone interested in seaside architecture and how resort towns develop over time. It also works well right after a beach or pier session for full coastal context.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
