I have guided in The Hague longer than most of the terraces on the Grote Markt have existed in their current form, and the old city hall is still the building I enjoy explaining most, since so few visitors expect a Renaissance facade a few steps from a modern shopping street. I take my time on a single square rather than covering the whole centre, and I try to finish near the Kurhaus so people see how the boulevard changes character as it reaches the sea. I answer questions as they come rather than saving them, since a good question often changes where I point the camera next.
