About this tour
This session walks through the house where Nicolaus Copernicus was born in 1473, now a museum of his life and work. You see rooms recreating a wealthy merchant household of the period and, further in, models explaining his heliocentric theory. It stays inside one building central to Toruń's identity.
I start with a sound check in the entrance hall, then move room by room from his childhood surroundings to the models explaining his astronomy. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note afterwards on his life beyond Toruń.
This suits anyone interested in the history of astronomy or Renaissance domestic life. It also works well as a first stop before exploring the rest of the old town he grew up in.
Included
- Live video walk with a local guide
- Questions to your guide all the way
- A short list of places to visit later
Not included
- Internet connection

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
