A gingerbread baker's wooden moulds
Highlights
- Hand-carved moulds from my own family
- How each pattern was carved and used
- A personal rather than museum view
- Craft tools passed down generations
- A short, close look at one tradition
About this tour
This short call is a close look at a set of hand-carved wooden gingerbread moulds passed down in my own family. You see the carving detail up close rather than a walk through a museum, and I explain how each pattern would have been used. It stays personal and specific rather than covering the whole tradition.
I open with a short introduction to where the moulds came from, then go through a handful one at a time, explaining the carving. Questions are welcome throughout, and I send a short note afterwards on how the moulds are cared for.
This suits anyone curious about traditional craft tools specifically. It also works well alongside the museum session for a fuller picture of the tradition.

Questions about this tour
What will the call cover?
The guide talks you through Torun: where to go, what to eat, and answers to whatever you ask.
What happens if the call drops?
The guide will try you again straight away.
Can I ask the guide questions during the session, or is it a fixed script?
Anything, any time. Sessions leave room for your own questions throughout, not just at the end.

No. This is a conversation: the guide describes the dishes and where to find them, so you can try them yourself whenever suits you.

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
