Valletta's Baroque walls, walked in full
Highlights
- Baroque walls encircling a whole peninsula
- Fortifications dropping steeply to the sea
- A full circuit, walked start to finish
- Engineering built to withstand a siege
- Valletta's defensive shape, explained
About this tour
This session walks the full stretch of Valletta's Baroque fortifications, designed to encircle the entire peninsula the city sits on. You see the walls from a starting bastion to where they drop steeply toward the sea, and finally back toward the main gate. The route stays on public streets and walkways throughout.
I walk the walls at a steady pace, pointing out the scale of the engineering at a few key points, and take questions along the way. I send a short map of the full route afterwards.
It suits anyone who wants to understand the whole shape of Valletta's fortifications rather than a single section. It also works well before a Republic Street session through the centre.
Included

How reviews work
Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
