About this tour

This call describes a handful of pieces from the Palace Armoury's collection, one of the largest surviving collections of its kind, since filming inside the museum is not permitted. You hear detailed, spoken descriptions of specific weapons and armour rather than seeing them directly. The call stays focused on this one collection throughout.

I describe each piece in turn, explaining what it tells us about the period, and take your questions as I go. I send a short list of the pieces described afterwards.

It suits anyone with a specific interest in arms and armour or the Knights' military history. It also works well alongside the palace exterior session.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
