About this tour

This call covers the history of the Warsaw Ghetto through maps and photographs rather than a live video walk. I explain what happened in the area and how little of the original structure remains visible today. By the end you have a clearer sense of the history and how to approach a visit to the museum and nearby sites.

We start with a short introduction, then I share images and answer questions as they come up, keeping the tone factual throughout. I am happy to go into as much or as little depth as you want, and I send a short list of further reading afterwards.

It suits anyone who wants historical context before visiting the museum and nearby sites themselves. It also pairs well with the video session for a fuller picture.

  • Honest tips on where to eat, stay and what to skip

  1. Hello, and what you want to know 5 min

The guide calls you and asks what you are after: planning Warsaw, recommendations, or just questions.

  2. Understanding the former ghetto 17 min

I talk through the history of the Warsaw Ghetto using maps and photographs, answering questions and suggesting how to approach the POLIN Museum and nearby sites.

  3. Your questions 5 min

Ask anything that is still on your mind, there is no fixed script.

  4. A written note after the call 3 min

You get a short follow-up message with everything mentioned, so you do not have to remember it all.

Good to know

  • The call is not recorded. Keep your own note of anything you want to remember, or wait for the follow-up message.
  • Have your questions ready, though there is time to think of more as you go.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
