Alexandru Ionescu

I worked for some years as a translator inside government buildings before I began guiding, and the Palace of Parliament is still the building I most enjoy explaining, since its scale is genuinely hard to grasp until you stand in front of it. On camera I keep well back to take in its full width before moving closer to point out a few architectural details. I keep a formal, detailed pace and welcome questions about the Ceaușescu era and the neighbourhood demolished to build it. Video suits a building this size well, since the camera can hold a wide shot in a way a single photograph rarely manages.
