Aslı Kaya

I grew up in Sarıyer, at the upper end of the Bosphorus, where my mother still buys fish straight off the boats most mornings. I trained as a guide to cover the villages further up the strait that most tours never reach, from Kanlıca's yoghurt shops to the old fortress at Anadolu Kavağı near the mouth of the Black Sea. On camera I like keeping the water visible in every frame, since the whole point of this stretch is how differently each village faces the same current. I answer most questions about which village actually has the better view.
