Burcu Şahin

I grew up near Kumkapı, where my father still eats at the same fish restaurant most Fridays, and I trained as a guide to show the old city walls that most visitors only glimpse from a taxi window. I focus on the stretch from Yedikule to the quieter gate at Silivrikapı, since that part of the walls gets almost no attention compared with the Blue Mosque area. On camera I like standing close enough to the stone that viewers can see individual repairs from different centuries. I answer most questions about which sections are original and which have been rebuilt.
