I left an office job to guide full time, and Maastricht's art side is what I know best, from the bookshop built inside an old church to the museum with the strange rocket-shaped roof. I speak French with a fair number of my viewers, since Belgium and its French-speaking visitors are close by. On camera I try to give a building room to breathe before I start explaining it, because a first look often says more than my commentary does. I like sessions that leave people with one strong image rather than ten small facts they will forget by the following week.
