Florian Hofer

My family has made wine in Nussdorf, on the edge of Vienna, for four generations. We have a small Heuriger, a wine tavern that opens when the pine branch hangs over the door, and I grew up carrying plates of Liptauer and blood sausage to the garden tables. I studied oenology in Klosterneuburg, spent two harvests in Oregon and one in the Wachau, and came home to help my father. Guiding started as a side job and is now half my life. Vienna is the only capital in the world with serious vineyards inside the city limits, and I love showing people that. My sessions now run live on video from Vienna: I carry the phone, you watch from wherever you are and ask anything.
