I trained as a florist for ten years before I started guiding, which is probably why I notice plants and market stalls more than most people do. At Mercat de l'Olivar I know which fishmonger gets the first catch and which fruit seller only sells what actually grows on the island that week. In the evening I show a different city, the rooftop bars and quiet corners where locals go once the day trippers leave. On a call I keep the tone relaxed, more like a friend showing you around than a guide reading from notes.
