I have poured beer at Ølhallen on quieter shifts and still think the pub, inside the Mack Brewery building, is the clearest way to explain Tromsø's evening side to someone who has never been. My evening session walks the bars around it once they fill up. A daytime session follows Storgata, the main pedestrian street, past the shopfronts that carry the town through the darker months. A third session walks the harbour and fish quay, where I talk through what boats are landing that day. I like moving between all three, since together they cover Tromsø at work, at rest and after dark.
