I walk the City Walls most mornings before the cruise crowds arrive, which is still the best way I know to understand how Dubrovnik actually fits together. On camera I usually cover one stretch at a time rather than rushing the full loop, then some days I carry on to Fort Lovrijenac just outside the walls, or down to Stradun itself once the light softens. Eleven years of guiding here means I know exactly which stretch of stone photographs best at which hour. I keep the pace unhurried and let questions decide how long we linger at any one bastion.
