Ketevan Mamulashvili

Our house in Sighnaghi has a marani, a wine cellar with seven qvevri buried in the floor, and the oldest one belonged to my husband's great-grandfather. Every October the whole family comes to pick Rkatsiteli and Saperavi, and the rest of the year I welcome guests at a long table in the garden with a view down to the Alazani valley and the Caucasus behind it. I also bake tonis puri bread and make churchkhela with guests, and I walk the town walls and the Bodbe monastery path. I was an English teacher for twenty years. My Russian is better than my English, but my English is fine. From Sighnaghi, I now guide on live video with my phone, and the chat stays open for your questions the whole time.
