About Kwame

Alright, I am Kwame, born in Hackney to Ghanaian parents, raised between Dalston and my aunt's flat in Peckham, where I live now. I did ten years as a youth worker in east London before I became a guide, and I still think of every tour as a conversation, not a lecture. My walks are about the London most visitors miss: the markets, the churches that became mosques, the Caribbean bakeries and Ghanaian chop bars, the streets where the Huguenots, the Jewish tailors and the Bangladeshi families each left their mark. I love jollof, patties and a proper salt beef bagel, and I have strong opinions about all three. I speak English and Twi, the second mostly with my mum. Kids welcome on the day walks. These days you can join me from anywhere: I walk London live with my phone and answer questions on the spot.

How reviews work

Only travellers who booked and paid through Locals Guide and whose tour took place can leave a review, within 60 days of the tour. Every review is marked "Verified booking". We check reviews before they appear and publish positive and negative ones alike; we remove only reviews that break our rules (insults, personal data, unrelated content). Guides cannot pay for, edit or hide reviews, and ratings are the plain average of all published reviews.
