Priya Sharma

I grew up in Southall, studied art history at the Courtauld and spent five years working in the education team at Tate Modern, running workshops for school groups who had never been inside a gallery. That is still how I like to guide: no jargon, lots of looking, and questions from everyone, not only from the person who has read the most. I moved to Deptford three years ago and fell for the river, so my other tours are along the Thames, in Greenwich and in Richmond Park, where I walk most Sundays. I speak English, Hindi and Punjabi. I am calm and organised, I send clear directions the day before, and I am good with families who have a mix of ages. If it pours, I know where to hide and still keep the tour going. Now I show London live on a video call, phone in hand, and I answer questions as they come.
