I spent four years working the information desk at the Prado before I ever thought about guiding on camera, so I know the building's rhythms better than most of its paintings. On a call I stay outside the museums themselves and talk you through the facades, the sculpture gardens and the courtyards, since a camera cannot follow me past the ticket gates. I studied art history and still read exhibition catalogues for fun, which probably explains why I go on longer than planned about a single doorway. I like the video format because I can hold the phone steady on a detail as long as your questions need.
