I live in Dorćol, the old lower town between Kalemegdan and the Danube, above a bakery that starts at four in the morning. I studied history and taught Spanish at a language school, which explains the odd combination of languages. Belgrade has been destroyed and rebuilt more times than anyone can count, so there is not much that is very old, but there are a lot of layers. My day walk starts at the Kalemegdan fortress, looks down on the confluence of the Sava and the Danube, then goes through Dorćol's small streets and the old Jewish quarter. At night I run a kafana and splav evening, starting with rakija and live tamburica music and ending on a floating club on the river if you still have energy. These days I guide Belgrade live on video: I walk the streets with my phone and answer your questions as we go.
